Kent Berk is tenacious, knowledgeable, thorough, and aggressive. Kent treats his clients as he would want to be treated if he were involved in a legal matter. He constantly considers the legal strategies available in light of the practical, emotional, and economic consequences of potential options and results. He gives each client personalized attention and strives to handle each matter in an efficient and cost-effective manner. He goes the extra distance. Kent was born in Denver, Colorado, and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1972. He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in business/finance in 1988. Kent graduated magna cum laude with the order of the coif honors from Tulane Law School in 1992. He then held a judicial clerkship with the Hon. Sherman G. Finesilver, Chief Judge, United States District Court, Colorado.
After his clerkship, Kent joined the then second-largest law firm in Arizona, O’Connor Cavanagh, where he handled many types of disputes, litigation, and arbitrations from 1993 to 1996. Always wanting to own his own business, Kent started his own law firm, now Berk Law Group, PC, in 1996. Since then, Kent has regularly handled virtually all types of disputes, lawsuits, and arbitrations.
Kent currently specializes in probate litigation:
- probate, estates, wills and trusts,
- elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation
- guardianships and conservatorships.
Kent has given presentations and taught seminars on legal topics, including financial exploitation and a variety of real estate issues, for the Arizona Department of Economic Security, State Bar of Arizona, and Maricopa County Bar Association, among others.
Kent is co-founder and former owner of AZ on the Rocks – Indoor Climbing, Inc.; past Director, Arizona Mortgage Lenders Association; former President and Director, Council for Jews With Special Needs, now Gesher Disability Resources; former high school baseball coach and Little League Baseball coach.
