Elizabeth Turnbull (Liz) is a Senior Litigation Associate with a strategic, detail-oriented approach to advocacy. Using her substantial litigation experience, she is committed to guiding clients through difficult, high conflict matters with clarity and efficiency.
Before joining Berk Law Group, Liz served as a Senior Attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. During her six years of public service, Liz litigated some of the government’s largest civil tax cases before the United States Tax Court, which earned her Chief Counsel’s Outstanding Litigation Award in 2023.
Liz has extensive experience overseeing every stage of litigation, from discovery and motion practice to conducting multi-day trials with both fact and expert witnesses, as well as managing settlement negotiations. Her expertise equips her to navigate the factual complexities, procedural intricacies, and strategic decision-making commonly encountered in probate litigation, while ensuring that clients remain well-informed and supported throughout the process.
Liz began her legal career clerking for the Honorable Michael J. Brown on the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology.
Liz is admitted to practice in Arizona as well as before the United States Tax Court.
