What to expect at an initial consultation at Berk Law Group, Scottsdale, AZ

During your initial consultation at Berk Law Group, you will meet one-on-one with an experienced probate litigation attorney to discuss your situation, evaluate your legal options, and get a clear picture of what comes next. The consultation costs $500, typically lasts about one hour, and can be conducted in person at our Scottsdale office, by phone, or virtually.

What Happens During the Consultation

Your consultation is a strategy session, not just a conversation. Here is what you can expect:

We listen to your story. You will have the opportunity to explain your situation in your own words. Whether you are dealing with a trust dispute, a contested will, concerns about a fiduciary, or suspected financial exploitation, we want to understand the full picture.

We evaluate your case. Based on the facts you share and any documents you bring, your attorney will assess the strength of your position, identify the legal issues involved, and give you an honest evaluation of where things stand.

We explain your options. Every situation is different. We will walk you through the legal strategies available to you, the realistic outcomes for each, and the pros and cons of taking action versus waiting.

We discuss costs and timeline. You will leave with a clear understanding of what representation would involve, how our fees work, and a realistic timeline for your type of case. No surprises.

We outline next steps. Whether you decide to move forward with our firm or not, you will walk away with a concrete understanding of what to do next and how to protect your interests.  Sometimes what to do next involves obtaining more information to then be able to fully assess options, costs and benefits.

What to Bring to Your Consultation

The more information you can provide, the more productive your consultation will be. If available, bring:

  • The will, trust, or estate planning documents at issue
  • Any court documents or current correspondence you have received
  • A timeline of key events
  • A summary of key financial records related to the dispute (account statements, property records, etc.)
  • Names and contact information of other parties involved
  • Any notes about your concerns or questions you want answered

Do not worry if you do not have everything. We can still provide valuable guidance based on what you know.  We will do our best to perform a basic review of key documents, but we will not make a detailed review of all documents as part of your consultation.  That may be part of recommended next steps.

Why We Charge for the Initial Consultation

We charge $500 for initial consultations because we treat them as genuine working sessions. You are not getting a sales pitch — you are getting an experienced attorney’s focused attention on your specific situation for a full hour. Many clients tell us they leave the consultation feeling clearer and more confident about their options than they have felt in months.  In order to make your consultation as productive as possible, we have some interactive tools and assessments that may help you better understand your situation and allow you to ask better informed questions.

This consultation fee is an investment in understanding your situation. If you retain our firm, the time and analysis from the consultation carries directly into your case.

Flexible Consultation Options

We understand that scheduling can be difficult, especially when you are dealing with a stressful legal situation. We offer consultations:

  • In person at our Scottsdale office (14220 N. Northsight Blvd., Suite 135, Scottsdale, AZ 85260)
  • By phone for clients who cannot travel or prefer the convenience
  • By video conference for a face-to-face experience from anywhere in the world

Schedule Your Consultation

If you are dealing with an estate, trust, probate, or elder law dispute in Arizona, taking the step to consult with an experienced attorney is one of the most important things you can do to protect your interests. Schedule your $500 consultation or call us at (480) 607-7900.
