Run Fore Cancer in Scottsdale, AZ

Head over to the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 22—but leave your 9-iron and spikes at home.
The Run Fore Cancer 5K starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. at the course, benefiting cancer research in Arizona.
Not often do runners get the chance to hit the rolling hills and fairways of a golf course, so take advantage of this opportunity and shoot for a new personal best time!
The race begins at the course’s clubhouse and follows the paved cart path, with a good mix of hills and flat areas. The Silverado Golf Course is gorgeous and will provide runners with amazing green scenery as they run through Scottsdale. Online registration is available.
Proceeds from the inaugural event benefit St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. All participants will receive a custom race tech shirt as well as a finisher’s medal. Pre- and post-race refreshments will be available for competitors. If running isn’t your thing, the race is also open to walkers.
St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital that provides a wide range of health, social, and support services with special advocacy for the poor and undeserved. The center includes the internationally renowned Barrow Neurological Institute, the Heart & Lung Institute, University of Arizona Cancer Center, Center for Women’s Health, and a Level I Trauma Center.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated in memory of Kathy Maxwell, who lost her battle with cancer in December. The race will be run on what would have been her sixty-fourth birthday.
We highly encourage all Scottsdale, Arizona runners and walkers to get out and support this great cause while staying healthy in the process. This is a very unique event and will hopefully continue for years to come!
